Tickets on Sale for Legends of Motorsports at the Glen
Bobby Rahal Historic Car Race Offers Value Pricing, Quality Entertainment
ZIONSVILLE, IN – (March 3, 2010) – Tickets are now available for the inaugural Legends of Motorsports race weekend at Watkins Glen International. The Bobby Rahal Signature Event at the storied upstate New York road course will take place June 11 – 13.
Legends of Motorsports presents the finest in North American historic sports car racing and will gather a fascinating variety of period-authentic race cars grouped by era and class at Watkins Glen. These range from production-based sports cars to open-wheel, purpose-built race cars. Paddock access, included with each general admission ticket, will provide guests a rich, up-close experience with the remarkable cars and participants. The fan-friendly paddock and exciting wheel-to-wheel racing combine for an exciting celebration of sports car history.
The weekend will include more than 15 different races from the following car categories: 2-Liter Sports Cars, Can-Am/USRRC, Classic Monoposto, Formula 5000, Formula Libre, Group C/GTP Enduro, IMSA GT/World Championship of Makes and Thunder and Lightning. As the featured marque for the weekend, Porsche cars will be celebrated through various on and off-track activities.
Advance tickets for the full, three-day event are priced at $45. A combined Saturday/Sunday ticket has been set at $35, while a Sunday-only ticket will be $25. Paddock access is free and additional options are being offered for hospitality and sports car corral parking. Watkins Glen International offers a three-day camping pass for $40. A limited number of Pit Road Reserved camping spaces with water and electric hookups are also available for $200. As always, children 15 and under will be admitted free with a ticketed adult. In addition to the Watkins Glen International event, Legends of Motorsports will hold 2010 feature events at Alabama's Barber Motorsports Park on May 21 - 23, Canada's Circuit Mont Tremblant on July 9 - 11 and at Florida's Sebring International Raceway on Dec. 3 – 5.
