Legends of Motorsports Adds Series Officials

Bobby Rahal to Serve as Competition Director

ZIONSVILLE, Ind. (March 1, 2010) – Legends of Motorsports, a Bobby Rahal Signature Event, has named four competition and event staff members. Each individual will provide a wealth of motorsports experience to the four Legends of Motorsports events in 2010.

Historic Motorsports Promotions Partner Bobby Rahal will serve as the Legends of Motorsports Competition Director. While recognized worldwide as a three-time CART Champion and 1986 Indy 500 winner, Rahal is also a long-time competitor in historic racing across the U.S. and Europe.

Dan Schmutte has been appointed as the Deputy Competition Director. Schmutte is an experienced vintage racer and official. He is a former President of Monoposto Racing and a retired General Dynamics executive.

The position of Technical Director will be filled by experienced historic racing tech official and former driver, Colin King.

Finally, Bill Skibbe has been named Chief of Timing and Scoring. Skibbe is nationally respected for his T&S expertise in both professional and amateur-level racing. He is a former Chief of T&S for CART and Champ Car.

The inaugural Legends of Motorsports season will begin May 21 – 23 at Alabama's Barber Motorsports Park, followed by Upstate New York's Watkins Glen International on June 11 – 13. Quebec's Circuit Mont-Tremblant will host the series on July 9 – 11 and Florida's Sebring International Raceway will close out the season on Dec. 3 – 5.
